Latinx Heritage Month is a time for celebration, learning, and our community! Nationally recognized in 1968 as a week-long celebration, Latinx Heritage Month is now a month-long celebration that kicks off with Central American Independence Days. At La Casa, we choose to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month to break down the influences of colonization and promote inclusivity of all Latinx individuals.
Throughout the month, take time to learn about the various countries within Latin America, support Latinx creators, and businesses, and reflect on the Latinx community's contributions.
La Casa Cultural Latina proudly presents 'Movimientos' as the theme for Latinx Heritage Month 2024. This theme calls us to recognize and amplify the intersectional and intercultural movements that have trailblaized the growth of Latinidad, celebrates our movement through music, dance, and art that are deeply woven into the very fabric of Latinx culture, and serves as a powerful reminder that Latinidad is and its diversity is ever-evolving fueled by the relentless energy of Nuestra Gente - our people, our traditions, and our vibrant, dynamic spirit that lead us to Siempre Seguir Adelante, to always move forward.
